On leaving school Jamie joined Strathclyde Police Force as a cadet and starts in the Full time Regular police force in April 2005. He would like to say 'Hi' to all his mates and teachers who helped him through the good and bad times. He would like to give special thanks to Mrs Lamont for giving him a reference when he applied for the police.

Left school in 2004.

In 2004 Deniece is going to James Watt College in Kilwinning to do a nursing course with her friend Alison. She will miss all the buddies she met at Ardrossan Academy. Deniece would like to say 'Hi' to Michelle *K*, Tam McKee, Steph, Amanda a.k.a. Chicken, Jill a.k.a Jimbo and everyone else.

John is studying for an MSc in Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde. He is currently (2007) on placement for a year at Cambridge.

He is still supporting the famous Ayrshire Killie.

Claire obtained a 2:1 Honours Psychology Degree at the University of Glasgow in 2007. After this she took up a one year work placement at Southampton University as a support worker in their disability service. Claire now works at the University of the West of Scotland for their Enable Support Department.

She hopes that everyone is doing well and would love to hear from anyone that remembers her.

June studied Photography and then Drama in Glasgow before moving to England to complete a BA Hons Drama at the University of Sunderland in 2005.

In June 2005, she emigrated to Australia. She is currently living in Melbourne and working as a veterinary nurse.

Married name: Keren Moore

Keren is currently working at the new travel agents King-Avenue Travel as a full-time Trainee Consultant. She is enjoying life and having a laugh with friends and colleagues! She would love to hear from anyone who remembers her!

Louisa is now a Cabin Crew member with Thomas Cook Airlines. She loves serving passengers and meeting others in the crew. No two days are ever the same.

Louisa really misses Ardrossan Academy. She would like to thank all her teachers and is sorry for having to be sent to the 'Time-Out' room most of the time in Maths!!

She is 'having a great time at college' and misses everybody from school.

Laurie is studying 'Music Performance' at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

She is 'loving life in Glasgow'. She hopes to hear from all those she has lost contact with.

Mark graduated in 2005 with a B.Sc in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Glasgow.
He did not fancy a career in Medicinal Chemistry so re-trained, and is now a fully qualified Financial Advisor. His "life is good" and Mark says "You don't get a 2nd chance at making a 1st impression so make every moment count ;-)"

Andrew, Kelly

Left school in 2007.

Kelly is studying for an NC in Biomedical Science at James Watt College.

She hopes to be a Herpetologist by 2015. She went from sleeping in Mr Clunie's Biology class (she swears that he knew and just let her snooze) to being one of the students with the highest grades in her college class - if she does say so herself ! Since October 2008, she has been 'straightedge' - she does not drink, smoke or take drugs and has had the tattoo to back up the claim. In her spare time, she likes watching movies, building Star Wars Lego things with her boyfriend, going to see her favourite bands play in Glasgow, hanging out in libraries and writing about herself in her livejournal.

Colin obtained an Honours Degree in Computing at the University of Glasgow.

He does not want a 'proper job' yet and is going to keep working at the cinema for a time. He still loves film and anything remotely related to it! He should be going back-packing around New Zealand and Australia very soon, to get a break from 16 years of forced education!

David worked in The Lauriston but, soon after, left to take on a chef's position in Sullivans. After 2 years he moved to working behind the bar. He now works in Bobby's Bar in Saltcoats.

John is studying for an HNC in e-Business at James Watt College.

He is currently working part time in the Lauriston. He is 'having a great laugh and keeping out of trouble'.

Balfour, Meghan

Meghan went on to study Primary Teaching at Uni, but discovered it was not for her!
She lives in Ardrossan and is now working full-time for the Bank of Scotland in Saltcoats.

Lynsey is studying 'Tourism International Travel Management' at Glasgow Caledonian University.

She says that 'Uni is good but nothing compared to school, so stay there as long as you can!! It was the best - a great laugh!' She says 'Hi' to Pet, Bruce, Martin, Boab and everyone else that knows her, especially the legendary Crow and Tomo! They will never be forgotten!!

Lynsey works part-time in Morrisons and is also working full-time as an Airport Ambassador at Glasgow Airport in the summer. 

Barr, Shirene

Left school in 2001.

Shirene is now a doting mother to a her baby girl Bryony, born in 2002. She is going to college once Bryony starts school. Just now, though, all her time is taken up looking after Bryony, which she enjoys very much. She has no regrets about leaving school but advises others to stay on until sixth year.

Barraclough, Stephen

Left school in 2006.

Stephen is studying Computing at James Watt College (Kilwinning).

He would like to thank everyone at Ardrossan Academy for their help. He says "I am well on my way to be rich and famous!"

After two failed ventures into student life at the Universities of Strathclyde and Glasgow, Mark got a job working for a pipefitting company in Montrose, firstly as a labourer then as a technical clerk in the office.

He is moving into a new flat in September 2006. He has joined the gym and the golf club and is 'not spendin all his money in the pub' !

Left school in 2003.

Michelle really enjoyed her time at Ardrossan Academy and misses all her friends. She is sharing a flat in Glasgow with Louise Semplay - her main friend from school. She is currently working in Debenhams in Glasgow but hopes to join Strathclyde Police Force later in 2006.

Chris is studying Sports Science at Napier University.

His life as a student is brilliant although expensive - loads of alcohol fueled nights out, parties, clubbing, women (1 or 2) and even the occassional lecture. He's made loads of new friends and enjoys playing football and volleyball with the lads at uni. He'd love to hear from anybody who knows him or has heard the rumours!

Andy is an apprentice mechanic at Reg Vardy and attends college once a month. He enjoys going out and 'getting hamered at weekends with Watson'.

Iain graduated with honours in Law at the University of Glasgow in 2007.

He thinks that 4 years flew by, and it seems just yesterday that he was at Ardrossan Academy. He still keeps in touch with most of his old school friends and hopes to have more nights out now that his fourth year is over! He plans on going to the Glasgow Graduate School of Law before beginning his traineeship in 2008 with Dundas & Wilson solicitors.

He will probably be best remembered as the right wing dictator who was Head Boy for a year, or his inflammatory Burns supper speach - who could forget "cock up your beaver" (its the name of a poem honest!)

Sarah is studying Law at the University of Glasgow.

She enjoyed school, starting Ardrossan Academy in third year. She has been missing the friends and teachers she left behind but has often bumped into old classmates and keeps in touch with a few. She enjoys clubbing and 'going down the pubs'. Uni is so much harder then school and she has to spend much of her time studying!

On leaving school, Ryan went straight into an apprenticeship in welding - he obtained an SVQ Level 3 in Welding at Falkirk College.

He is now a tradesman and working full time with Doosan Babcock. He still lives in Ardrossan, with "the love of his life", Lisa Blades and they have a baby boy called Dylan. He "kicks about" with all the same troops and still loves watching Rangers.

Buckley, Neil

Neil is studying Law at the University of Glasgow.

He plays football for the university first team. He has been to Rome to play in the European universities football championships and is going to the USA to play in the summer of 2004. He is still DJing and has done a few nights in Glasgow but will hopefully get something permanent when he has finished his degree. 'Uni is good' but Neil also says he 'wouldn't mind going back to sixth year for a few hands of poker! '

Christopher is studying 'Music & Audio Technology with Electronics' at James Watt Collge.

Most of his teachers and peers probably thought that he wouldn't amount to much, but he has proven everyone wrong and has become a nationwide television star! He gets noticed in the streets wherever he goes and has been asked on many occasions for his autograph! His career began when he appeared in an advert for Scottish Enterprise's Modern Apprenticeships and since then he has had work with Ewan McGregor and also the BBC.

She lives with her husband, Kenny.

Clarkson, Pamela

When she left school at the age of 18, Pamela went to Kilmarnock College for 1 year and studied Economics. In 2001 she left college and trained to be an air hostess with Air 2000. She went through a 6 week training course, passed all her exams and is now flying with Air 2000. She will be moved on to another airline called Britannia Airways in the near future. She has been a "Trolly Dolly" since 2001 and really likes it. In 2007, if she sticks with the job, she will be Senior Cabin Crew Member on every flight.

Pamela would like to wish everyone at Ardrossan Academy the very best. She would also like to thank her favourite H.E teacher Mrs L. Dowie for all her help and support.

He misses the 5th year lunchtime 'mob'. His highlight from school was firing elastic bands off each others heads. His top 3 teachers that made his school life bearable were: Mr 'Catch That!' Quigly, Mr Hand and Dr. Oates.

Ryan obtained an HND in 'Computer and Network Support with Administration' at James Watt College in Kilwinning also gaining, on the way, his MCP, DCSE Computing certifications.

He is now a fully Qualified PC Repair Technician working in Dell Computers in Glasgow as a Gold business support Technician. He is a full time Dad to Corey Brian Donaghy and staying with his fiancée Jackie in a house in Dalry.

Duncan enjoyed his time at Ardrossan Academy and is going to Ayr College in August 2004 to do a course in I.T.

Before completing his honours degree in 'Multimedia Technology with Web Development', Jamie is spending two years at James Watt College, Kilwinning. He hopes to follow a lecturing career.

He will continue with his voluntary medical work but only as a pastime.

John is studying Real Estate Management at the University of Paisley.

He would like to thank all the teachers he had at Ardrossan Academy - if it was not for them he probably would not be at Uni now. He would like to say a big thank you to a few of his favourite teachers: Mr Brian Cunningham, Dr Vincent Oates and Mr Christie. Good Luck to everyone and he 'hopes the Fire Alarm isn't going off every day too'.

Kate-Louisa is a Paramedic for the Scottish Ambulance Service, based in Crosshouse. She sometimes sees some of her old teachers when she is racing up the High Road responding to 999 calls and it brings back 'all those memories'. She would like to thank all the staff in Ardrossan Academy.

Lee joined Strathclyde Police in October 2006.

After completing his Cadetship, he left the Police to join the Scottish Ambulance Service. He is now working as an Emergency 999 Operator, answering 999 calls, providng medical advice/instructions and reassurance to members of the public in an emergency or crisis situation. He is doing this on a temporary basis before he returns to Strathclyde Police as a full Police Officer in early 2009.

He wishes everyone who knows him every sucess in their future careers, and he hopes that everyone does well.

Dow, Lesley-Ann

Left school in 2000.

Lesley-Ann joined the police force in 2001. She is based in Ayrshire. She really enjoys it and will hopefully, fairly soon, get a promotion from WPC to the Mounted Branch as she loves working with horses. She wants to thank all her teachers.

Dow, Siobhan

Left school in 2004.

Siobhan is now a fully fledged Air Stewardess for First Choice Airways which she joined straight after she left school. If it wasn't for the help of Mr Lunday in giving her a reference and teaching her the maths she needed, she believes that she would not be where she is now. She would especially like to thank Mr Lunday for providing the "good banter" and also Mr Farrell for teaching her "some great French".

She would also like to say "Hi" to all her old friends, and to all the amazing teachers at the school. She is almost in line for promotion so, if anyone wants a cheap holiday, give her a shout!

Stacey-Anne is working as a Flight Attendant for 'My Travel Airways'. She really enjoys working with all those in her crew. She loves being a "Trollie Dollie". One of her scariest moments was when her plane had to do an emergency landing during her first week of joining 'My Travel' !

Left school in 2000.

Tori is an Air Stewardess for Easyjet. She misses going 'down the Bakers' with her pals and her favourite teacher, Mrs Alison McKellar. If it was not for the teachers and staff at Ardrossan Academy she would not be an Air Stewardess now! She thanks all her teachers and staff.

Cheryl says she "would never return to this school if my life depended on it! They tought me nothing and it was a waste of time". She is now doing a Social Work course in James Watt Collage and learning something. Her first baby is on the way! She married Tam in June and is now "so happy!"

Kirsty is studying Pharmacy at the University of Strathclyde.

She still plays hockey for Ardrossan Academy former pupils hockey club and is currently working at Harvies as a lifeguard. At the weekends she is most likely to be found in the Hip Flask. She misses school because it was so much easier than uni but she is really enjoying the freedom of uni life!

Christopher is studying Mechanical Electronic Systems Engineering at Glasgow Caledonian University.

He is enjoying university life and his course is very interesting. The early mornings are murder though!!!! Steven completed an apprenticeship with a local engineering firm, and is now a fully qualified Computer Engineer. After finishing his apprenticeship, he went on to complete two HND's, one in Computer & Network Support, and the other in Multimedia Computing & Web Development. He is currently working towards becoming Microsoft Certified. He is employed by an Ipswich-based IT firm, providing support to the NHS, and small businesses in Scotland and the north of England.

He moved to Kilmarnock in 2008, where he lives with his fiancee Lyndsay. They are getting married in May 2010. He can still be found around the three towns, as his family all still live there.

Nicola is studying for a BEd in Music at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She is training to become a music teacher. She is enjoying life in Glasgow and has made lots of friends there. She sings in a wedding band at the weekends and makes a regular appearance in Buchanan street, busking for some extra pocket money! She spends a lot of her time at open mic nights around the city centre.

Raymond is a Communications Systems Operator in the army, currently in Helmand province in Afghanistan serving with 16 Air Assault Brigade. Being in Afghanistan has been an eye opener - he is experiencing things that he will never do again. He has been in Sangin Valley where there is a huge Taliban stronghold and Nowzad, an Afghan Police Compound - like something from the 1800's!! - which is not as hostile. He says it has been good experiencing the culture and interesting to see how the other half live!! He hopes Afghanistan gets better as there is a lot of unnecessary suffering for the majority of the population due to the 'Taliban Regime'.

She is now working in Taylor and Henderson Solicitors although, she says, "many teachers might not believe it" as she was "never keen to learn". She misses school. Her "fave" subject was Admin - she wants to thank her teacher, Mrs Carr.

Graduating with a First in 2004, Stephen moved to Reading with his girlfriend, to work for BBC Monitoring, as a technical operator and sub-editor. He left the BBC in August 2007 to take up the position of master control room operator at CNN in London.

In his 4th year, he will go to either Germany or the USA to do an industrial/research-based placement, which will help him gain valuable experience. When he leaves university he hopes to use the Chemistry he learns ........... and to make lots of money!
