Our trip started early in the morning of Sunday 8th February. Meeting at Ardrossan Academy at 6.30am we assembled for an unbelievably good ski trip to France.
It was a long day travelling to our destination, Serre Chevalier - we had to take the bus to Prestwick, a flight to London Stanstead, another flight to Turin and finally a bus to our resort. We arrived at 7pm, had a nice meal and collected our rented equipment that we would use for the week.

Waking up on the Monday morning, it was a beautiful day. We were amazed at the beauty of the Alps as our hotel was a stone's throw from the slopes. After breakfast, we met with our ski instructors who split us into our groups. The 4 ski groups ranged from beginner to advanced. There was also a snowboarding group of mixed ability. Not only did we get to ski with the instructors for the allotted 5 hours, but we had an extra 2 hours for those who wanted to ski with qualified teachers - Mr Smith and G.I. Derrick!

During the 6 days, we skied and snowboarded, but at night there were activities organised by different members of the group. There was ice-skating, bum-boarding, bingo, quizzes, chill out night and not forgetting the traditional sing-a-long evening with Mr Gilchrist.
The whole trip was a success, all pupils (& staff!) were a credit to the school and everyone improved at their snowsports. It was a truly worthwhile trip with good snow, good company and good fun!
