North Ayrshire Schools Equestrian Championships

As President of the North Ayrshire Schools Equestrian Association, Mrs Stewart has been organising the above event over the last 2 months. The Championships took place at Muirmill Equestrian Centre. 7 out of 9 N.A. secondary schools took part. Only Auchenharvie and Arran had no entries.

The event consisted of Individual Showing Classes and Show Jumping Classes, as well as a Team Class. All pupils placed were given points for their school, towards the North Ayrshire Schools Championship Quaich. This part of the Championships was won by Largs Academy. Force of numbers! Ardrossan Academy's team were sadly depleted for various reasons and only managed two competitors, Helen Kaye and Amy Cruickshank who both did well in the showing classes.

The Association's next event will be a Cross Country School Event at Eglinton Park in September. This event will also involve Primary Schools across North Ayrshire, with a Nursery Class being added to accommodate this and we extend an invitation to them through the Active Schools Coordinators.
