Mr McLellan and Mrs Mayes took a group of 20 S1 pupils to Newtonmore for 3 days. This involved lots of Outdoor Learning. Team building exercises were important. Learning about various envronmental issues was included.

More details from the Active Outdoor Pursuits website.

The pupils had a fantastic time, staying at the Craigower Lodge in Newtonmore which is located in the Cairngorm National Park. They studied a variety of environmental issues. Activities included gorge walking, mountain biking and abseiling. The group also took a raft journey down the River Spey which showed them how the river is used by the whisky industry and fishermen as well as tourists and how they sometimes come into conflict.
